In spite of my previous post, my life is not joyless. So in keeping with the Tag via Sukipoet, OWL, Studiololo and Blue Sky Dreaming...here's my fiver of things I do to keep my spirit healthy and happy: 1. Nuzzle and sniff the cats...they smell safe and warm to me and we both get something from it 2. Remember to take my vitamins 3. Notice the little things (frost on the windshield looks like glitter; leaves curled up next to my front door; pats to face by kitties) 4. Blogging (it connects me, and I get to live vicariously like an artist through you) 5. Talk on the phone with at least one friend a day

Happy New Year! Sounds like you're off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteHmm I like you post and totally do the first 4, but I hate talking on the phone, what pretty stuff you have on ;)
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful. You might try to keep a bedside journal too. I keep one by my bedside and each night I write at least 7 things that I was grateful for from that day no matter how small or insignificant it may seem. It always manages to put me in better spirits before I go to sleep and it helps me to sleep as well by changing my frame of mind. I call it my gratitude or blessings journal.

Hmm. I left a comment but it did not take I think. I like your five things. Chuckled at remembering to take your vitamins. Very important too. I also take them along with some herbal suppliments. I'm also not a big phone talker but it would be a good thing for me to do out here where i currently see few people. Where is your mug???
ReplyDeleteJennifer, Thanks for the words of encouragement. Did you mean New Years Day sounded better than Eve, teehee.
ReplyDeleteAnd Lorraine...what pretty stuff? and you can always talk on the computer rather than the phone, it's all keeping in touch.
Susan, thanks for the visit to my page and your comment. Yes, the journal is a good idea to keep things in perspective and be grateful for. What came to mind first... not running out of gas today.
And Suki, your comment did come thru...I just have to approve them first. Yes, I too take some herbal vits--look like fine ground catnip and boy am I glad they're in capsules! I still have many friends that have fear of blogs or something, so the phone calls help me keep in touch with those, and I was so hoping that the blog would free up some phone time for me, but mostly I've just made new friends, LOL. And your query made me get to the mug, too.
